Hello Nightfall players!
Since the last announcement, we have been working daily on the server’s core and database, addressing all problems and writing new systems to repair deep core issues. - Thanks to the progress we have made, we are ready to share some updates and news with you. The major points are as follows: a newly written warden system, movement reworks reducing the movement delay between players especially during PvP, scripting overhauls, and more.
Warden is now active, it will give us the opportunity to detect cheats. It will find most basic cheats but also sophisticated ones with a bit of training. Right now it detects (PQR, WoWAdminPanel)
The movement rework includes an overhaul of how packets are created, received and sent. By closely analyzing and reversing the movement packets, we were able to fix crucial bugs resulting in players seeing players moving slower/faster than the speed set by the server, and optimize the sync between players viewing other players. This means if you knockback a player, there won't be a half a second delay on your screen, or when a player moves there isn’t anymore a half a second delay. Not only does this improve PVP, but also PVE content, before there was cases of where you needed to fly a dragon vehicle, and although the server was allowing you the player to fly, the client didn’t acknowledge that, now cases like this has been corrected, and can be seen in the Hyjal quest: “Slash and Burn”, which a video will showcase soon.
We’ve been thoroughly testing and scripting the Cataclysm zones, which fortunately yielded fantastic results. We’ve discovered many bugs and areas for improvement, which has been worked on daily resulting in many, sometimes globally fixes. Hyjal specifically is now scripted to near Blizzlike quality.
It’s said that a picture is worth a thousand words. In that case, videos must be worth even more! We’ll soon be uploading daily Youtube videos showing off the latest major fixes. This could be anything from quests, features, new system rewrites, dungeons and much more. Stay tuned for these exciting showcases.
Of course, what you’ve been waiting for is news about the beta and full release. With classic coming out, the private server community may need some time to recover,
However for an actual estimated release - we anticipate by February or March of 2020. As for the open beta Weekends event, we aren't ready to disclose any information quite yet, but stay tuned for future updates for further information.
