Project-Nightfall (Project Nightfall): About us
The team behind Project-Nightfall are humans who simply want to offer a proper server, that you can finally call your home. We listen to our players, we care about our players, and we definitely care about Project-Nightfall. By the time that I write this, I can safely conclude that Project-Nightfall has turned more than "just" a project. It has turned into a complete hobby that I can't get enough of. I always want to improve the server, I always want to provide more fixes into the server, and I can't get enough of investing my income in more developers to get fixes done even faster. Also, if you haven't figured yet, this article is going to be a long read. Should you be interested in reading the full story of Project-Nightfall from this blog post, I wish you happy reading! Otherwise, I hope to see you ingame.
Project Nightfall - when was it founded?
Project-Nightfall was founded in the middle of 2018. During that period, we accepted a few cherry-picked testers to report bugs, which is unfortunately a very big thing on the later expansions. There are no public 4.3.4 cores/databases to use, that are decent of the ground. The owners behind Project-Nightfall already knew this, and also knew that it'd be a huge, but also interesting adventure to fix up a 4.3.4 core and database and launch a 4.3.4 server. Although we still have a while to go, in order to call us a "proper" quality 4.3.4 wow server, I believe we are getting there steadily.
We were originally called Cataclysm-WoW in the early of 2018, but wanted something more personalized, so Project-Nightfall it became. During the spring of 2019, we realized that we'll need to have focus on advertising, and not just server-fixing. This means that, as I write, that we have constant focus of how to get the Project-Nightfall word spread out there. Should you be interested, then feel more than free to spread the word to your friends, family.. and dog!
Project Nightfall - Staff members & backgrounds
I do personally not want to become too personal as of writing this in regards to my personal background, as the head-owner of Project-Nightfall. I can however tell that I'm a mature, professional human being that cares for other people. I always listen to people, and I want other people to feel as good as possible. If I can make someone's day better by having them play on Project-Nightfall and have a nice, smooth and friendly experience, then that makes my day as well. Really. Getting positive feedback and happy words in return really makes me even more motivated towards Project-Nightfall.
As for my technical background, I work in the hosting niche, and have been a developer a few different places, which has helped me getting the knowledge I have today. Should you have any questions, then you are free to send me a personal message, and I'll be happy to answer any questions you might have. Anyways, enough of the background of myself - lets move on to the next topic so you can get a full understanding of Project-Nightfall and our ambitions!
Project Nightfall - Hosting location & thoughts
The next question. If you are interested in the more technical aspect, this sub-topic is for you! We are running it on a stable Linux Machine to make use of all the ressources that we can compared to Windows, first of all. There are daily questions, as to where the host is located. At this point, we went with the "safe" choice, and did like many of the big private servers, which is to go with OVH, France. We are however ready to, should we have any issues with compliance, to move it somewhere else, such as Russia. I do not want to talk too much about the legal part of private servers, but it's no secret that the laws play a big role as well. Especially with classic servers from Blizzard coming up. We are however ready to remain online, and we will not close out of a sudden.
Project Nightfall - our expectations and ambitions?
Honestly, we do of course have ambitions. We hope having a big enough community to have activity going on. But we do also care a ton about having a friendly community. We really want people to feel welcome, have a guild, a raid, and a lot of friends on the server. It's all things that we believe that makes it a home for you as well. We will however do our part, which is to ensure a quality and scripted server, maybe the best cataclysm server and assure you that we have a staff team behind that wants the same.
Project Nightfall - Conclusion and ending words
I'll end this blog-post before you fall asleep. But in short, I'd just clear it out that we, the owners of Project Nightfall will do everything in our power to make this a home for you.
Thank you for taking your time to read. You are more than welcome to come with any suggestion you might have to our common server, or come up with more questions to Project Nightfall in case you wonder about anything.
That's it for now folks..
